
DIRECTOR OF RETIREMENT PLAN SERVICES AND FINANCIAL PLANNING
Tommy Stine is the Director of Retirement Plan Services and Financial Planning for Water Street Financial, a locally owned and operated wealth and financial management firm that specializes in comprehensive goals based financial planning for individuals and families, investment advisory to non-profits and municipalities, consulting services to retirement plan fiduciaries, and outcomes based financial wellness programs to the participants of employer retirement plans. Water Street Financial is powered by LPL Financial and Wealthcare Advisory Partners.Â
In his current position, Tommy works with financial planning clients to assist them in living the best life they can based on their current means. He also works with retirement plan sponsors to navigate complex rules, regulations and laws of ERISA and the DOL in designing plans including participant financial wellness as a way of attracting and keeping the talent that a company needs.
Tommy completed the Certified Financial Planner Professional Education Program and obtained the coveted Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) designation in 2011. He has received formal training in investment fiduciary responsibility while earning the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) professional designation. Tommy holds the Profession Plan Consultant™ (PPC™) designation which signifies a commitment to education and service excellence in the qualified plan industry. He is a graduate of the 401(k) Service Training Program™ which addresses the service standards in the retirement plan industry and impart professionals not only with the knowledge, but the tools needed to meet and exceed those standards. He achieved The Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) credential from The National Association of Plan Advisors, an affiliate organization of the American Retirement Association. The CPFA was developed by some of the nation’s leading advisors and retirement plan experts— demonstrates knowledge, expertise and commitment to working with retirement plans.  Plan advisors who earn their CPFA demonstrate the expertise required to act as a plan fiduciary or help plan fiduciaries manage their roles and responsibilities.
Tommy and his wife Tina are active and lifelong members of the Winchester Community. He volunteers his time with many worthwhile causes including as a Senior Board Member of the Judges Athletic Association. He is also an avid supporter of his college alma mater, James Madison University.
